And I Ran, I Ran So Far Away...
Yesterday I did yoga for the first time in ages. Today my hamstrings are calling me ugly names.
I spent most of 2004 working on running. I got my times (moderately) faster and I worked on increasing my endurance so I could not die during longer runs. It was time well-spent, because I'd never thought running was something I could do. Finding out that I can made me feel like an athlete for the first time in my life.
This year I plan to keep up with my running, but I'm going to try to add back in the other forms of exercise I used to enjoy as well. I've let yoga and Pilates fall by the way side, and I can't even remember the last time I rode a bike.
Running gave my confidence in what my body can do. I'm looking forward to seeing where that confidence can take me.
